Dr. Desmond Coates
Dr. Coates was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, but raised in Memphis, TN. Throughout his childhood, he had always wanted to be a veterinarian. His late Uncle Bryant used to raise and breed Miniature Schnauzers and German Shepherds. He attended The University of Tennessee-Knoxville for both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees. Dr. Coates’ special interests include ophthalmology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Coates and his wife moved to Philadelphia in July 2022. They are excited to explore the rich history and food scene that the city provides and would love to hear any recommended food spots. His other interests include playing soccer, anime and manga, sports, and community service. He is a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated and has been a part of the organization since Spring 2013. He looks forward to meeting new and established clients and assures that their fur babies will be safe with him. (In the picture is his sweet and sassy cat Violet, who was adopted from Morris Animal Refuge. She was not pleased with the photo.)
